Introducing the Steel Blue x Fix Foundation Charity Boot at Fix Fest 2025

Fix Fest 2025 was a special one for Steel Blue.

Not only was it our first time exhibiting at the event, but it was also the official launch of the Steel Blue x Fix Foundation charity boot. It gave us the opportunity to meet tradespeople from across the industry, introduce visitors to Steel Blue and share the story behind a collaboration that supports an important cause.

From the moment the gates opened, there was a real buzz around the event. Visitors spent the day exploring the show, listening to speakers, meeting familiar faces and discovering new products. For us, it was a fantastic introduction to Fix Fest and a chance to connect with the people who wear our boots every day.

Trying Steel Blue for the First Time

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was introducing visitors to Steel Blue.

Some people had heard of the brand but had never worn a pair before, while others were completely new to Steel Blue. Fix Fest gave them the opportunity to try on different styles, compare options and experience the comfort of Steel Blue work boots for themselves.

Seeing someone lace up a pair for the first time and immediately notice the comfort never gets old. It's something we hear regularly, and the event provided plenty of opportunities to put that reputation to the test.

Of course, it wasn't just first-time wearers stopping by. We also met tradespeople who arrived wearing their own Steel Blue boots, many of which had clearly seen plenty of action on site over the years. Seeing our boots being used day in and day out by hardworking tradespeople is always something we're proud of.

Danny Madden, Robin Clevett and Fix Fest

Danny Madden and Robin Clevett were both part of Fix Fest 2025, taking to the stage during the day and helping introduce the Steel Blue x Fix Foundation charity boot.

As two well-known figures within the trades, they attracted plenty of interest throughout the event and helped introduce the Steel Blue x Fix Foundation charity boot to the Fix Fest audience.

It was also great to catch up with James from @mkl_cable_solutions, a loyal Steel Blue wearer and a familiar face within the industry. Like many visitors, James stopped by to check out the latest styles and take a closer look at the new charity boot.

Not every memorable moment was planned either. One of the lighter moments of the day came when the Fix Radio mascot appeared to be sporting a Steel Blue logo on its boot tongue – something that certainly didn't go unnoticed.

The Steel Blue x Fix Foundation Charity Boot

Fix Fest 2025 wasn't just Steel Blue's first Fix Fest. It was also the official launch of the Steel Blue x Fix Foundation charity boot.

Until then, the boot had remained under wraps, making Fix Fest the first opportunity for visitors to see it in person, take a closer look at the design and learn more about the story behind it.

It didn't take long for the boot to attract attention.

Visitors regularly stopped by to ask questions about the latest addition to the Steel Blue range and find out when it would be available.

One question came up more than any other:

"Where can I buy them?"

Before many visitors even knew the full story behind the boot, they were already asking when it would be available and how they could get their hands on a pair.

The distinctive black and orange colourway proved particularly popular. One visitor told us that black wouldn't normally be their colour, but combined with the orange detailing it looked fantastic. They added that supporting a good cause made it an even easier decision. While the design attracted attention, the story behind the boot often became the talking point.

For every pair of Steel Blue x Fix Foundation charity boots sold, £5 is donated to the Fix Foundation. Once visitors learned more about the Foundation and the work it does, many were keen to find out more.

Judging by the number of people asking where they could buy a pair, the boot certainly made an impression.

Why We Partnered with the Fix Foundation

The Fix Foundation supports people working across the trades and construction industry, helping individuals and families when they need it most. Through fundraising initiatives and community support, the Foundation continues to make a positive difference across the industry.

The trades have always been built on people looking out for one another. Whether it's helping a colleague on site, supporting a friend through a difficult time or raising money for a good cause, that sense of community remains one of the industry's greatest strengths.

That's one of the reasons this partnership felt like such a natural fit for Steel Blue.

By supporting the Fix Foundation, we're helping an organisation that shares many of the same values that have always been important to Steel Blue: supporting hardworking people and giving back to the industry.

For us, that's what makes this collaboration special.

Looking Ahead to Fix Fest 2026

For Steel Blue, Fix Fest 2025 was a memorable day.

From introducing visitors to Steel Blue for the first time to officially launching the Steel Blue x Fix Foundation charity boot, it was a fantastic opportunity to meet people from across the industry and be part of a unique event celebrating the trades.

We'd like to thank everyone who stopped by the stand, tried on a pair of boots, shared their experiences or took the time to learn more about the Fix Foundation and the charity boot.

A special thanks also goes to Danny Madden and Robin Clevett, as well as everyone involved in organising Fix Fest.

We're already looking forward to returning in 2026. Fix Fest will be back on 11 July 2026 at Delapré Abbey in Northampton, bringing together tradespeople, exhibitors, live music and entertainment for another fantastic day. Tickets are already available, and we look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones too.

Visitors will also have the chance to take part in Steel Blue's Find Your Sole Mate Challenge. Hidden around the festival grounds will be 10 Steel Blue x Fix Foundation boots waiting to be reunited with their Sole Mate. Find one and bring it back to the Steel Blue stand, and you could walk away with a pair of Steel Blue boots of your choice.*
