Top well-being tips from the APA.

To further help the physical and mental health of our Steel Blue Legends, our mates at the APA have shared some of their top well-being tips.

These tips help to make a difference everyday.

  1. Recognise the effect stress, workplace culture and mental health can have. It is important to raise awareness around mental health in the workplace and have appropriate channels available for mental health support.
  2. Recognise the importance of getting enough sleep (7 – 8 hours), nutrition (balanced diet) and hydration (water) during your workday. Each of these will affect your physical and mental health, and as a result, your ability to perform as a tradie.
  3. Prevention is better than a cure. See your physio for a preventative job-specific program to ensure you remain injury free.
  4. If you have a little niggle in your body, get it seen to before it becomes a more problematic complaint. Early intervention is key.
  5. Take a risk management approach to performing potentially hazardous manual tasks. Try to work smarter, not harder, when it comes to manual tasks.
