1. Governments are getting behind trainees
Trades are a cornerstone of the economy. So when governments provide millions of dollars in incentives and schemes that encourage apprenticeships, they’re investing in the skilled labour pipeline for everyone’s benefit.
Eligible employers can access thousands of dollars in support for bringing on apprenticeships. Plus, training the next generation helps to grow your business into the future.
2. Apprentices are more in demand than ever
Historic unemployment rates, combined with surging housing and infrastructure demand, are putting pressure on tradespeople. As a result, most forecast figures show that construction, agriculture, mining and transportation will feel the pinch of skilled labour shortages in the coming years.
Encouraging apprentices and traineeships is essential if we want to get on with the jobs that need doing.
3. Equality is a priority
The face of apprenticeships is changing – and that’s a good thing. In the last few years, we’ve seen a 54% increase in females commencing an apprenticeship from June 2021 and increasing support for diversity action.
