Our Reconciliation Action Plan has been formally endorsed

RAP report steel blue

Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has been formally endorsed as a Reflect RAP by Reconciliation Australia.

Since 2006, RAPs have provided a framework for organisations to leverage their structures and diverse spheres of influence to support the national reconciliation movement.

As part of our core values, developing a RAP is the latest positive step for us to guide the footwear and manufacturing sectors as we recognise challenges may be alleviated if the Australian community and business community act as allies.

For us, reconciliation means continuous learning, collaborating, honouring and championing meaningful change for a better, united future for everyone.

It is our privilege and obligation to use our position to help progress the economic participation and success of Aboriginal individuals and businesses.

Our RAP focusses on cultural awareness & education for employees and our business community, inclusive recruitment practices and partnering with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and businesses for mutual success.

How does a RAP assist?

  • It allows an organisation to strategically set its reconciliation commitments in line with its own business objectives, for the most effective outcomes.
  • Our plan has been officially endorsed by Reconciliation Australia as a Reflect RAP which will lay the foundations for future RAPs and initiatives.

How does Steel Blue participate?

  • We support community groups that focus on empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples including Clontarf Foundation, Swan Districts Football Club and Ngalla Maya.
  • We have established a committee to focus on advancing the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

What are Steel Blue’s future initiatives?

  • As a member of the Australian business community, we can help by making employment and commercial opportunities more available to members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
