Clontarf Foundation: providing an opportunity to succeed

Steel Blue hosts the Clontarf Foundation

Steel Blue is a proud partner of the Clontarf Foundation.

The Clontarf Foundation improves the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men, and by doing so, equips them to participate more meaningfully in society.

The Clontarf Foundation increases school attendance rates of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander boys that are participating in the program. The foundation keeps these young men within the education system until they finish Year 12, and then assists by placing them into suitable employment.

Success at the Clontarf Foundation is measured by the extent to which boys graduating from the programme either find jobs and keep them, or continue in further education. The 574 young men who completed Year 12 in 2018 have embarked on the next stage of their journey – employment and/or further education or training. As at December 2019, 80% of these young men remained engaged in employment or further study. The Clontarf Foundation will continue to support those who are working or studying, while at the same time, will keep working with the remaining jobseekers to help them find employment.

The team at Steel Blue are looking forward to hearing of the future endeavours and successes of these students. For more information about the Clontarf Foundation, go to www.clontarf.org.au
