When safety boots and pop music collide – Goldband x Steel Blue
The Goldband x Steel Blue work boot was Europe’s first celebrity-designed limited edition safety boot.
With this boot, Goldband and Steel Blue wanted to bring the dance floor to the construction site and vice versa. “We give professionals a work boot with glamour,” said Goldband.
The collaboration was a long and meticulous process that started two years ago. The band members have a back story in trade and construction as plasterers. They are now one of the most popular Dutch bands of the moment. The Goldband x Steel Blue collaboration ties in the construction site with music, a match made in heaven and a great success story. People in the music, building and fashion industries were abuzz after hearing news of the collaboration.

It started in Summer with a (not so) silent launch at one of the countries biggest festivals: Zwarte Cross, where the band performed for over 40,000 people wearing their Goldband x Steel Blue boots for the very first time.

Goldband launched their own Steel Blue work boot during a big fashion show at a hardware wholesale store in The Hague, The Netherlands. Local celebrities known from television and social media and from the construction and fashion industry, were spotted in the audience.
The fashion show was themed around construction and the smallest details were considered; food was served using tools and a stucco runner was used for the runway. Steel Blue CEO, Peter Bell flew from the head office in Australia, to attend the event in The Netherlands.
The limited edition Goldband x Steel Blue boots were released in both men’s work boots and women’s work boots.
Steel Blue is thrilled with the collaboration with the band who are known for multiple top-40 hits.
“It is a special collaboration. It’s the first time in Europe that a safety footwear brand collabs with a pop band,” says Daphne Ros, Marketing Manager EMEA at Steel Blue. “And not just any band, but Goldband. The most popular band in the Netherlands and with their plastering history, they are very familiar with the trade and construction industry.
